Fighting misinformation with advanced tools
In the ongoing STARLIGHT series, we introduce Michalis Lazaridis of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), leading work package six on AI-based multi-source data sensing and understanding. This research is essential to transforming complex information technologies into practical solutions for today’s security challenges.
CERTH's integral role in STARLIGHT
In our ongoing exploration of the STARLIGHT project's key contributors, we're delighted to introduce Dr Jorge García Castaño, who leads the Intelligence Security Video Analytics Department at Vicomtech. Vicomtech focuses on developing AI tools that sift through images and videos to find crucial evidence and predict cyberattacks using temporal information from large datasets.
At the heart of innovation
Cybersecurity is a battlefield that demands not just advanced tools but a unified approach to defend against ever-evolving threats. Valentina Del Rio, Project Manager at Pluribus One, plays an important role in the STARLIGHT project, bringing their expertise to foster advancements in cybersecurity.
Embracing the STARLIGHT vision
The Cyber Campus Transfer Programme (PTCC), which aims to strengthen cybersecurity research, bring innovative products to market, and support training and technological startups, showcased the STARLIGHT project on June 10, 2024, in Paris.
Nizar Touleimat, Project Coordinator and Director of the R&I Programme—Intelligent Digital Systems for Security and Defence at CEA-List, and Cédric Gouy-Pailler, Laboratory Head at CEA, presented STARLIGHT.
In the evolving landscape of security and law enforcement, innovation and collaboration stand as pillars of progress. Thierry Hartmann, from the Directorate for International Security Cooperation (DCIS) of the French Ministry of Interior, brings these principles into the STARLIGHT project. Their expertise bridges the gap between operational needs and innovative solutions, driving forward the mission of enhancing security through advanced technology.
